Yes I take a business subject and I must say I do enjoy it!
Last week in business we discussed the placement of goods in a grocery store. I was interested to find out that most shops have their daily fresh produce as you walk in the shop to your left! Interesting! Apparently 70 percent of the money is made here. I think we would be amazed at how cheap fruit and veg is! Pity I'm a student and buy small quantities ( those owners are making money on us poor students).
This week we spoke about advertising and how some companies have been effective in sticking with their concept and style and being faithful and consistent such as Kodak. We all associate the yellow and red colours with it and it has stuck with us.
Talking about sales, our lecturer mentioned if you want to be a good salesman you must not only sell the features to a customer but the benefits and the kind of lifestyle you buy with it!
Every good advert has a call to action that motivates people to buy! I must say I am a terrible sales person, I'm so non shallant about things. I kind of have the attitude that if you like it, buy it! if not then that's okay too!
Lastly we spoke about comparative advertising and how sometimes it can be uneffective and actually draw attention to another brand!
These are just a few things that I have learnt and do suspect that I'm going to learn a whole lot more but thought I'd share my "business thoughts" with youB
