Singing, "you've got the cuuuutest little babbay face". Oh sorry didn't see ya all here.
"hope which ever fancy face that is reading this is having/had a grand day indeed".
I read the story behind the famous Gerber baby face. Follow this link to read it too.
I enjoyed the read. Its just a classically inspirational example of how something small/ seemingly insignificant could make a lasting impact.
You'll all recognize the face of the Gerber baby when you see it. It certainly has lasted the years. The baby face that was used as a logo to promote the product was actually drawn of a real lady who is now a grand mother. That is the first thing that I like about the story. I like the authenticity.
The second thing (yes I'm working in two's...AGAIN) that I love about this story is that out of all the artworks that were submitted, a simple charcoal drawing was chosen. For those of you who have worked with charcoal its a very loose style because charcoal is a thick medium. The lines drawn with it tend to be more rough- with less detail than that of a pencil. It also smudges really easily so one doesn't fuss too much over and on it. Oil on the other hand demands more time. One has to wait for layers to dry in order to apply a new layer or detail on. Its also more expensive as better quality materials are used, canvas is needed and fancy brushes. Charcoal no such fuss. You don't need brushes, turps, canvas or heaps of time. After all, its just a burnt piece of wood that meets a fine piece of wood.

I've got a good feeling!
Singing " oh oh oh... I've got a good feeling... Yeah" ... This song has often allowed for many respectable giggles in my family as my mom busts out singing these lyrics.
Talking about feelings I finished off my previous blog post still thinking and analyzing what I had written... " its too vague, general, wishy washy"... Then I started to think through what I was really trying to commuinicate. From what context was I speaking and for goodness sake to whom...
Not long after all these thoughts came rushing in I opened a magazine which spoke so clearly into what I have been trying to answer and articulate.
The truth is... I overthink things and according to the article I read I am not the only one. (enter sigh of relief). Over thinking things can become compulsive, ecessive and unhelpful. While we tend to think its responsible and noble to reflect on matters and circumstances perhaps we already have a gut feeling of whether to venture forth for example or stay in the bay.
This brings me back to my previous blogpost that is aimed at the over thinkers, the analysts, the compulsive rehashers. You are not alone in your plight to do things right ( what you may have taught to think is right). Research has shown that what the mind might rehash and rehash and rehash ( x a million) the gut has already figured out. Daniel Kahneman ( Noble prize winning psychologist) writes that our gut is actually our brain using info stored in memory to arrive at a conclusion at a much faster rate that we expect.
So essentially a gut feel could be owed more credit than it is given. Laura Day is an acclaimed author (of six books) believes that you're not manifesting your dreams by believing they'll happen-you're doing it by trusting that the answers to lifes quandaries are already within you".
So after over thinking a blogpost (like any writer would do) that was written in a spur of the moment I found the answers that were stored in my brain. Some of the answers -newly found, while some hidden there for awhile proving yet again that inspiration is within. Its stored within you. Perhaps locked up. Perhaps not. But let me not overthink this.
In closing I'd just like to reiterate that you are awesome! You are the most grand design because you are made by God. If I can leave you with any advice : free yourself and act on your gut!
