Modernism vs post modernism

Today we were discussing in a lecture about M vs PM. Post Modernism really got me thinking and made me acess which I lean more towards.

PM put power into the consumer. The fashion consumer could now interpret for themselves what the garment meant to them. New materials were being used which also gave more liberation. Each individual now had the power to interpret things the way in which they decided fit. No longer was there just one way of thinking\dressing. Each persons thinking was defined by their past, likes and dislikes and for the first time people began to question things such as war.

PM was an anti fashion time and one girl in our class mentioned a quote by Andy Warhol in which she said "so what". I get a feel from this quote that nothing really meant much yet there was much meaning in each persons thoughts. Traditional ways of thinking were now foresaken. Dictatorship was discarded and equality was encouraged. Context now meant more than content and so the t shirt that one now would wear would now be thought through its manufacturing process.
Recycling was now in "fashion". Coats made from rubber tyres would be something that was seen for the first time.

Text (apparently it is called body copy or copy by some?) was also seen for the first time on t-shirts and clothing. Everyday items such as a urinal or soup cans were now considered as art. In Modernism these kind of thoughts would have been totally aborted.

So going back to my original question. Do you think you lean more towards a Modernist or a Post Modernist. Do you think that there is a right or wrong way to do things, then you'd probally lean more toward Modernist. If you truly believe there is no right or wrong then a PM. I think I would like to lean more toward PM and be more accepting of people and myself but sometimes I think I am very much a M. However creatively I do like to be very liberal and experimentative! I suppose it is hard to say. ( Now that is a typical PM who leaves more questions than answers). Ill leave that one unanswered...
