On browsing through "Print & Pattern, Bowie style" book, I have realised just how popular sillouettes and simplified shapes are in design. Page after page I see everyday items that are often overlooked used so sweety on a wallpaper, gift card, wrapping paper, as a logo, in an animation or in textiles for clothing or interior.
I have also been so inspired by limited use of colours (±5) and using a few variations of the same colour in one design. Complimentary colours are often used and as we all know really work well together to express vibrance, energy and excitement.
However to my disadvantage it has been difficult to still capture the feel that colours can give when I am limited to 2 or 3 colours as I my projects require screen printing. When using 3 or more colours in screen printing one comes across many more challenges,such as registration.
