Embracing diversity

" Love is not when there are no differences. Love is when the differences make no difference."

Daily I come across people who are so different, many speak different languages, have different skin colours, different backgrounds, standards, morals. Somehow we are all still living and have made daily functioning work ( Sometimes I battle to even understand myself let alone someone who is different from me ). There are many people from different places in my class alone, such as Botswana, Zimbabwe, Transkei, Despatch, East London to name a few. All these places speak different languages such as English, Afrikaans, Tswana, Xhosa etc.

I have been amazed at late at how different we all are. While chatting to a neighbour of mine, she told me that she sleeps in the afternoon and gets up every morning around 2 or 3 to do homework and assignments. Why was I shocked to think that her way of doing things could be so diverse to mine?

We are all so different yet make it work and help eachother along this thing called life. It is very special to be a South African and be exposed to so many diverse cultures, people, places and languages.

I do hope that this is something that we don't try to change but embrace to have its full powerful effect! I dare you to love the differences until they make no difference...

All the best to the Springboks as they travel to New Zealand today! We are thinking of you...
