Danger has been chasing us for so long. Our heads have been down as we've run for safety. We've been hotly pursued by our enemies fear and insecurity. We've been fighting for so long and endured even when we've run out of breath.
We see a cage in the distance. Surely this is going to be a place of refuge. Safety. Calm. I enter the cage and shut the cage door locking the padlock.
Happy to be safe but somewhat disapointed of the land i've left behind. Memories. Loved ones. Fondness. Sentimental thoughts stream in.
The cage seems to have become smaller and loneliness increases. I emtertain the guests of emptiness and despair. I cling to the cage bars that are separating me from the world I once knew and wish the bars away. The memories seem to fade like old photos. But the ageing shows how things have changed.
I turn my body around in the cage only to be overwelmned by beauty. Magnificence and lush green rolling hills. So long I have been looking at the one side of the cage that I haven't seen the opening on the other side.
I realize now that I am safe from danger, fear and insecurity but also free to romp around in a newly discovered world. The scent of roses beckons me in, promising a whirlwind of delight. "Shall I enter?", well that would be rhetorical...
