Since I've lost 5 or kgs people have started to treat me differently (or maybe I've been treating myself with more respect and in return they treat me with more respect?)
On several occasions people have stopped and stared or asked me random questions with simple answers. Ie: a man came into the shop once asking where the atm is to which I told him and he completely ignored my instructions, not losing eye contact as he left. He was also spotted walking past the shop for no reason. Today when I was taking down the shop sign board in from the street, some men from across the road asked if I needed help. It makes me wonder if they wouldve helped me if I looked different.
So yes in a way the extra attention is nice but I like to believe in unconditional love too. Yes we are all human but I like to cling close to the word that says, "man looks at appearances but God looks at the heart".
Let's treat people equally no matter what they look like and to treat ourselves with utmost love and care.
