Elephant in the room, elephant in the circus arena

Good afternoon ladies and gents,

Hope everyone is doing super well today.

Today's post is going to be a heavy one, we are talking about elephants again!
Ever heard the saying, 'it was as if there was an elephant in the room'? People use this saying when there is something that is so obvious that could be spoken about but it is uncomfortable to do so. It may be an issue that we are not sure how to approach, a bad vibe, a grudge, unforgiveness that should be spoken about but will take serious courage to talk about. I want to propose that sometimes we can even feel that we need to give ourselves a talking to! This elephant can be something that we just want to throw a black rag over but we all know that throwing a black rag over a elephant is not going to make the elephant disappear unless we are magicians. So for those of us who are not magicians, how do we get rid of this elephant?

I think the first step is to acknowledge its presence.

Then I think we need to decide are our relationships more important than the elephant or do we want to keep the elephant around. Maybe use it as a part of a circus act?

Once we've decided 'yay or nay' we can then come to peace with the elephant. The issue doesn't just disappear. Forgiveness doesn't mean that you forget about it all together but we can move on once we have forgiven.

Awkward situations can be used as an amazing story to tell your children one day. Regrets can be things that we giggle about in old age. All these elephants can be trained to be part of a circus act (well treated elephants that is !).

Only God can turn a mess into a message,
a test into a testimony,
trial into a triumph
and a victim into a victory!

God can use the 'elephants in the room' to become part of glorious circus acts! These elephants can become an exhibit of God's glory if we allow them to be.

Love,
Sarah**
