making imprints on this earth...one step at a time

My last post briefly mentioned my fascination with elephants. They can weigh up to 4 tonnes and can be up to 3.5 metres tall. They have a long trunk which they use for sucking up water and putting it in their mouths or cooling themselves off. Their trunks have around 10 000 muscles in it. Their large ears are used to regulate their body temperature, like massive fans. they can have offspring up until the age of 50. They are said to experience empathy as well as other emotions, they mourn at the death of another elephant. They walk long distances. Predators go for the young elephants because they are smaller in size and less intimidating I suppose. Although these creatures are big they carry gentleness in their eyes which is seen in the way they move. Elephants are sometimes used in circuses and symbolize slow path to success.

This next fact really fascinated me though: their footprints make an indent in the ground which then collects water for other animals when it rains. I thought that was so beautiful. Just by the elephant walking and doing its normal thing everyday, it plays an important role for other animals. It might not rain often and so without these hollows the animals may not be able to drink the water because it is soaked into the dry soil.

The weight of your life (no girls I am not calling you fat) can gather water for others, whether you realise it or not. By trapping water for others you allowing them to receive the minerals, hydration and circulation that water brings. God brings the rain but as you walk and live a righteous life you are making imprints on this earth...

Keep walking
Let God bring the rain

Love,
Sarah***
