Don't mind the gap
So I've been thinking about the gaps that we find in the day. I've noticed the need and pressure I place on myself to be effective every minute of the day and that includes between classes. It may only be a 5 minute gap but my mind is always thinking, dreaming and creating.
But what if we instead took moments to become self aware and invite love, hope into these gaps. Notice something beautiful about someone. Just acknowledge their style, the effort they've put into dressing/ their homework. People appreciate acknowledgement and may interpret it as acceptance.
Today in these in between moments I realised that I often lift my shoulders and tense them. I caught myself doing this on various occasions. I stopped right there, dropped my shoulders, opened my hands and asked for love, peace, joy and hope to fill me. Try it!
So I've inserted 2 photo's. One is of my delightful nephew (brag! brag!) who is turning one on Sunday and the other is of Bridget who is looking stunning as per usual. They're somewhat linked to the post. Mainly cos I love gaps in the day as well as gaps between two front teeth. Both remind me to smile, enjoy and soak in the beauty around me.
