Fight like a girl!

The phrase 'you fight like a girl" has been a belittling statement that issues pity on the one that it is said to. I beg to challenge that.

Today I met a lovely young lady who will actually be my boss. Her peaceful countenance not only oozed calm but depth. We chatted about marriage, which I have currently cut from my thought life. (We'll leave that topic for another two posts). We spoke about confidence, about men, about relationships. If you didn't know I was of the female gender now I'm sure you've put two and two together. But back to my story about talking about something I'm trying not to think about, let alone talk about, let alone now be writing about. However when I find gold nuggets of wisdom I can't help but joyfully repeat and regurgitate it up!
(enter punch line). My boss said even when she fights with her husband he can see love in her eyes and visa versa or versa visa. Amazed. Thoughts provoked. She went onto say that they have so much love for one another that even though they get angry at times, there's still love. Bam. (Applause audience)

Scripture encourages us to not sin in our anger. Mandate heard. Calling for higher levels heard loud and clear.

Speaking when anger and hurt has disintegrated is wise. Speaking out of anger will lead to more hurt and eina. Note to self: fight like a girl. Fight with love. Fight with gentleness. Sometimes that means walking away even if the belittling statement that is aimed at issuing pity is heard behind you. Keep your chin up and just keep walking.

Disclaimer: this post has nothing (to my knowledge) to do with the previous post. I prefer things in two's.

much love,
Sarah. Xxx
