Laughter is the best medicine. It releaves stress and anxiety and leaves your muscles relaxed for 45 minutes after a good chuckle. Laughter decreases stress hormones and increases immune cells and infection-fighting antibodies. This improves your resistance to disease. Laughter triggers the release of endorphines. It makes sense that you can't be stressed and laughing at the same time.
Smiling is another good habit. By smiling it sends impulses to your brain telling it that you are happy. This is a habit I am trying to get into.
The other night I watched one of my favourite films, The Great Gatsby. The gorgeous Gatsby, Leonardo Dicaprio, is showing off his wardrobe to Daisy and she said "They're such beautiful shirts, she sobbed, It makes me sad because I've never seen such beautiful shirts'. The entire movie theatre was quiet during and after this part in the movie, except ME ! I thought this the funniest thing cos I love fabrics and this scene full of silk scarves blew me away. It was a rather frivalous quote by Daisy and she was judged heavily on this in movie and book reviews but for me it spoke to my inner core.
It was a liberating laugh for me. I guess the saying is true: if you want to know somene see what they laugh about.
Hope you have a day full of giggles cos a day without laughter is a waste! Live your life laughing...
Let me end with a portion of a quote:
“Laugh, even when you feel too sick or too worn out or tired.
Smile, even when you're trying not to cry and the tears are blurring your vision.
Sing, even when people stare at you and tell you your voice is crappy"
Smile, even when you're trying not to cry and the tears are blurring your vision.
Sing, even when people stare at you and tell you your voice is crappy"
