This morning I woke up with the mantra that today I am going to 'have cake for breakfast'. So I said to my mom that we should go and have cake for breakfast before we leave to go visit my grand mother, granny B.
So off we went to a local coffee shop, just a street away. I would brag and say we walked but we didn't, so I can't brag. We had what they call 'heaven on a plate' which my mom and I shared. It is supposed to be a variety of different cakes but we had a variety of carrot cake, carrot muffin and then another carrot muffin with yucky icing on.
above: the pretty wallpaper, with water colour painted tea cups, that lined the one wall.
Sometimes life is much like that... a variety of the same thing. We have a lot of the same things on the go, every single day. We follow routine religiously. Wake up at the same time, eat breakfast (usually in the same order everyday), change etc etc. I'm sure there are many people out there who then go to their jobs where they feel like they are just maintaining. There is a big differnce between maintaining and creating. Life can well be boring, monotonous when we do the same things day in and day out. Life hands us varieties of carrot cake. Sometimes its not even carrot cake, sometimes its varieties of bread.
What do we do when we are tired of the same old same old? Do we give in to thinking that it is always going to be same old same old? Often that is the easiest option but will leave you feeling like you are clipping your own wings. I want to encourage you to keep dreaming of better days, keep ordering heaven on a plate, even if you get varieties of carrot cake. I want to encourage you to pray and trust God, even when circumstances deem it useless. Don't give up praying for your heaven on a plate because you may be one prayer away from it.
DON'T STOP BELIEVING!
Lots of love,
Sarah***
