if you are not open, you're closed

Unlocking the locks

its a heart thing

Disclaimer: This is written for simpletons.  I'm writing this as it is.  Straight from my heart.  I suppose it is fitting seeing as though the post is about unlocking your heart.

Last Sunday night was a deal breaker for me.  I was so lost in worship where my imagination took me away.  Or better yet, God lead my imagination.  I saw a dark dingy dungeon.  It was damp and cold.  The floors were cement and the walls were dirty.  But the most prominent feature in the place were the locks and chains on the cells.  What also grabbed my attention was the bars that were a barrier to each and every cell.  There were numerous cells.

Whilst in worship the words of the song, "break every chain" stood out to me.  I couldn't get beyond those simple words.  Suddenly I saw light dawning into the dungeon.  I saw chains and locks disapearing and being replaced with glass doors separating each cell.  There were no longer bars but transparency.  There was no longer damp.  There was warmth.

God then related this to my life.  He related it to how I locked up thoughts, talents, experiences, jokes in my heart.  In a place so hidden.  I hide things that were intended to be in the light.  For this I am sorry cos when we are open and vulnerable God recieves so much glory.  Inspiring people inspire others.  Open people inspire others to be open.

A quote has been ringing in my mind for months on end is this:
IF YOU ARE NOT OPEN, YOU ARE CLOSED.

My hand bag has a buckle on it.  It looks as though one ought to un thread it to open the bag but it is not so cos it has a magnetic fastener on the other side.  Some people are like that.  They may look difficult to read or get to know but actually it is not what it seems.

I would like to end this note by encouraging us all (young, old, wild and wooly ones) to let our light shine before all men.  To be that city on a hill that can't be hidden and not to hide our light under a bush, oh no!

This is my quest! This is my aim! my hope!
