"why so serious?"

"Why so serious?" -the famous words of Heathe Ledger acting as the clown in the Dark Night.  But this is not a movie review.  When I was in school my principal/teachers would have those seriooous talks about stealing and bullying and all that none sense and they would mention that it is a serious serious serious matter.  Now my name is Sarah if you don't know and Sarah and serious kinda sound the same.  Maybe not spelling wise but when you sound them out they can sound similar, well at least the beginning part.  I was a goody-too-shoes at school so I was not guilty of stealing nor bullying but somehow the word 'serious' always caught me by surprise!

I've often heard the saying 'don't take yourself so seriously' being flung around like water in the ocean or air in the sky.  From a young age I've heard this saying.  Consequentially I've found myself in the habit of dismissing things I feel are important.  Dismissing emotions cos apparently they're never good.  But what if we applied this saying in appropriate contexts.  Rather than flinging it like its always a noble thing to say.  Truth is this: you are important.  Your thoughts are important.  What you believe is important.  Your opinion is important.  What you want to do with your life is important.  Your feelings are important.  Take what you love and take it seriously.  You could create an income or side job for yourself by taking what you have and taking it seriously.  Its really an oxymoron sentence : Take what you love seriously.  Seems like they don't fit together but they do.  Take yourself seriously cos you are important.  Surround yourself with positive thoughts, positive people, positivity.  Do it intentionally everyday.

Take
yourself
seriously
cos
you're
important.

Love,
Sarah.
